MOSKVA - VÄRLDENS BÄSTA STAD - lor-sondag, 1-2 september

MOSKVA - 'Varldens basta stad'  - Moskvas stad fyller 865 ar nu pa lordag och det firas givetvis ordentligt. Med start kl 12 pa Roda Torget finns mycket firande att titta pa och over 600 olika evenemang ar planerade! Vid Pushkintoregt blir det 'Broadway' festival med utdrag ur musikaler, Cirkusartister pa Tsvetnoi Blvd, serveringspersonal tavlar pa Teatralny Proezd och sa vidare. Bara att bege sig ut alltsa -  varning for att en hel del gator kan vara avstangda. Kvallen avslutas med fyrverkerier fran Roda Torget.

The grand opening of Moscow's city day celebrations will take place on the Red Square at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012, as reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta. 600 entertainment programs and activities have been scheduled for the day of the city's 865th birthday.
The "Moscow Broadway" concert featuring excerpts from musicals that have been a success on Moscow stages in the recent years will take place on the Pushkin square on September 1. In particular, the concert will feature performers of "Cats," "Zorro," "Mamma Mia," and "Sound of Music." The Broadway show will be hosted by Evgeny Pisarev, director of the Pushkin Drama Theater.
A carnival dedicated the 200th anniversary of the war of 1812 will take place on Sakharov Avenue, and Tsvetnoy Boulevard will become a stage for circus artists' performance. Among the most unusual sights there will be a race for waiters with trays in Teatralny Proezd and a light show in Gorky Park and on Tverskaya.
Besides the entertainment shows, festival organizers have for the first time scheduled a number of educational tours that tourists will be sure to enjoy. For example, anyone will be able to walk with a guide along the Kremlin's walls or from Tropinin Museum to Zamoskvorechye. The September 1 celebrations will end with fireworks at Vasilevsky Spusk, Cosmonauts Alley in Troitsk, and Poklonnaya Hill.

The Red Square is currently being prepared for the military music Spasskaya Tower festival. The first rehearsal took place on Wednesday. It was attended by the Orchestra of the Moscow military garrison.
This year's festival is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Russia's victory in the war of 1812. A great show awaits the spectators. The Festival will also be attended for the fourth time by the famous French singer Mireille Mathieu. According to the production director Roman Markholia, the singer has become a true talisman of this colorful event. "We are extremely happy to invite Mireille Mathieu every time, because she is so loved by the Russian public. And she always gladly accepts our invitation," he said.
The concert near the Kremlin walls will feature over ten bands from all over the world, including, for example, the famous EU Bagpipe Orchestra.  Orchestra performances will be accompanied by vivid theatrical performances. The Spasskaya Tower festival, held since 2009, is one of the key events in the cultural life not only of Moscow but of Russia itself. Each year, the popularity of the show grows. The peacekeeping mission of the festival, which brings together national traditions of different countries and continents, is promoting domestic military ceremonies. Over the years, more than 50 bands from 27 states have participated in the Moscow Festival. The upcoming show is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1812. The festival will take place on September 1 - 8.
