Dear walkers, friends and colleagues,
I
am in Moscow - briefly - this week for a conference and hope to squeeze
in a walk at the end (see below), in collaboration with the Moscow
News.
If
you've left Moscow, but would like a nice souvenir (or present), you
can get "Moscow Walks - Spring" on amazon.co.uk for £7. (If you're still
in town, you can buy it at any branch of Le Pain Quotidien or Nash
Khleb bakery/cafes and get a free drink
:-) http://lpq.ru/ourcafe/ or direct from the Moscow News.
Saturday,
26th May - Meet from 2-3pm inside Kolomenskoye Park not far from
Kolomenskaya metro, in the area sometimes known as the Kazansky garden
(below the church with blue domes, but above the row of log cabin
cafes), near the statue in the middle (see attached photo - from inside
the metro, follow signs to the park, walk ahead to the gate and then
turn left to pass a big square building and continue to the cafes ...
gardens will then be on your right; email me if you need more
directions)... At 3pm, we are hoping to set off for a very informal
stroll (NOT a tour!) around the park, along the river and back through
the orchards, ending back at the same place with a picnic ... about
4-5km-ish? medium ... ending by 6pm or earlier with the option of
further, evening strolling/bar-crawling later ...
Thanks
to everyone who has been so supportive of Moscow Walks so far. The
Summer volume is in process and should go on sale in June or July. There
will be one (probably) final series of end-of-project walks and parties
in mid-September. I'll keep you
posted!
cheers,
Phoebe
